What are fragrance oils?
Fragrance oils are man-made liquids that mimic the scent of
their source, or their inspiration. They are either made by mixing different
chemical compounds or by diluting Essential oils with chemicals or Carrier oils. They are budget-friendly, practical, and more attainable than other
‘natural’ sources of aroma like Essential oils, which can often lose scent with
time or under processing. And the best part is, you can get a wide range of
aromas in fragrance oils, even those, that are not available naturally, like
the scent of fresh-cut grass or the aroma of the ocean breeze.
There are two types of
fragrance oils; Synthetic fragrance oils and natural fragrance oils. The
former is made by mixing different chemical compounds and is more popularly used
in making perfumes, incenses, and potpourri. While Natural Fragrance oils are
made by diluting Essential oils with other synthetic aroma compounds, they are
more suitable for cosmetic use like adding to Lotions, Creams, etc.
Uses of Fragrance oils
Fragrance oils literally have an endless number of uses, but the
few of the popular ones are:
- Soap making: They are used in making different
kinds of soaps, including Cold, pressed soaps. They are the preferred choice in
making soaps because fragrance oil can sustain through the rough process of
soap making.
- Perfumes: One of the primary uses of fragrance oils is perfume making. They are cheaper in comparison to other sources and the aromas are just more realistic, sometimes even more than the source aroma itself.
- Scented Candles and other products: With the growing popularity of Scented candles, the demand for fragrance oils is also increased. They are used in making incenses, potpourri, and scented candles because it is easier to capture fragrances that are not naturally available. Like the famous aroma of Winter breeze, Summer in a bowl, etc.
- Air fresheners and Diffusers: Fragrance oils have been used in making Air fresheners for a long time. They have strong scents and can easily cover any foul aroma around, which makes them perfect to add to fresheners. Huge spaces like Hotels and Clinics like to diffuse fragrance oils in diffusers because they can last longer and are cheaper than other natural fragrances like essential oils.
- Cosmetic and Skincare products: Moksha’s fragrance oils are Paraben and Phthalate Free, which makes them safe to use for products like body lotions, creams, body scrubs, and bathing items. They are not harsh on the skin and won’t cause irritation. They are unique and formulated in-house by combining natural essential oils and synthetic but skin-safe aroma compounds.
