How much fragrance oil do I add to wax?
Many percent of the odor load
depends on the type of wax you use. In most cases, you will need to add around
9-10% fragrant oil per kilogram. Therefore, for 1 kg of wax, you will need about
100 grams in total. e.g. with 500g wax, 50g fragrance = 10%. However, since
each type of wax has a different percentage of loading perfumes.
Can I add more fragrance than recommended?
It is not recommended to add more
than the recommended fragrance load to the wax only. This can lead to poor
candle performance. There is a supplement called Palm Stearic Acid that can
help increase the odor load.
How can I better measure the fragrance oil?
We recommend that you always
measure your scent oil on a digital scale rather than measuring it with a
measuring spoon or cup because different oils may vary in volume depending on
ingredients and quantity.
Can I blend fragrance oil together?
Yes, different fragrances can be
combined together to create an entirely new aroma. One needs to experiment and
create blends that work well with each other to create a unique scent.
Can all perfumes be used for soy and paraffin crayons?
Our perfumes are specially
designed for use in natural waxes, including soy wax and palm wax. Please
always check your testing before bulk production.
What is in your fragrance oil?
Our fragrance oils contain many
fragrant ingredients, some natural and some synthetic, combined with the
specifications of our perfume makers. Natural parts are extracted from plants
or flowers and artificial parts are made from man-made materials. Our
fragrances contain artificial ingredients that enhance the effects of candle
making. Using only natural ingredients (such as essential oils) is expensive
and limited by what you can create. Essential oils are difficult to work within waxes, do not mix that well and needs trial and error. Our fragrances are
therefore a combination of essential oils India and synthetic substances.
Storage and management
Always keep fragrant bottles,
unopened or closed, tightly sealed, and in a dark, cool place away from direct
sunlight or other heat sources.
Care should be taken when
handling fragrance oils; they can damage or discolor surfaces. We recommend
mixing in the containers. Be careful to follow the instructions carefully when
applying the scent because if the wax is too hot, the fragrance oil can
vaporize, which can reduce your odor and in some cases lead to ignition. Please
make sure you keep your bottles in a cupboard, container, or box to protect them
from all light sources in a room that is kept cool and dry. Please also keep
them away from children and do not let them in.
Pregnancy safety
Available data on fragrance
safety and pregnancy are inconclusive. Fragrances testing is limited to skin
sensitivity only. No data is available on the results for pregnant women.
Everything used in perfume production is safe to use according to the
International Fragrance Research Association (IFRA). None of our fragrances
contain phthalates or parabens, and there are no animal-based ingredients.
What does a flashpoint of fragrance mean?
A flashpoint is a temperature at
which a fragrance can combust when exposed to open flames or sparks. When the
flashpoint goes down, it becomes easier to burn the material. Adding fragrant
oil to the wax over the flashpoint will not cause it to burn.
How long will fragrance oil last?
The shelf life in the middle of fragrance
oil is about one year. Depending on the time, temperature, and exposure to air
and light. Also changing the shelf life of the materials used to make the
scent. If there are more natural ingredients in the formula, they can be
destroyed very quickly. We recommend that you store fragrant oils in a cool
dark place away from light and heat. We recommend checking each scent in the
candle before making a large batch if you need to allow the oil to last for
more than a year.
Why does fragrance
oil vary in price?
Raw materials used in
fragrance oils can vary in price. Some are more expensive than others, and this
affects the cost range.
Why does fragrance oil differ in color?
The ingredients that make up the fragrance oil can cause color variation. In some cases, the same odor may vary from
batch to batch. This is due to the nature of the raw material, especially the
highly absorbed natural ingredients.
For example, the harvest time and
the location of the raw material can cause color variation in the final result
when you compare batch to batch. The formula is not spoiled, and the smell
remains the same.
